To schedule an appointment, click on a white space next to the tutor's name. The white space shows when a tutor is available. You may find a tutor for your specific need by clicking the drop down menu above titled area of focus.

  • Appointments may be made 7 days in advance by clicking next week link above.
  • Appointments need to be made at least 1 day in advance.
  • You may only make one appointment a day.
  • No more than 3 appointments a week.
  • Cancellations need to be made 12 hours in advance or will be considered a "No-Show".
  • More than 3 "No-Shows" a semester will disable your account.
  • If you do not show up within 10 minutes of your scheduled appointment, you will be waitlisted to the next available spot




PEGS’ Graduate Writing Institute for Excellence (GWIE) fosters intellectual independence through open dialogue and collaborative learning in order to help students strengthen and develop their graduate-level reading, writing, and research skills— all of which involve critical thinking. Of course, thinking critically is each individual’s responsibility; thus, it is expected that each of us will take ownership of, and authority over, our own learning processes. The following contract is designed to ensure that each student a) is fully aware of each of their individual responsibilities and b) fully complies with each of PEGS’ GWIE’s rules (please also refer to GWIE Handbook).

  • It is my responsibility to follow the CSUDH community standards of conduct as laid out in both the GWIE Handbook and the CSUDH Student Code of Conduct; moreover, I am responsible for adhering to all local, state, and federal laws.
  • I understand that PEGS’ GWIE considers any form of academic dishonesty inexcusable. Thus, cheating, fabrication of data, and/or plagiarism, etc. may result in discontinuation of services and/or disciplinary action taken by PEGS’ GWIE and/or the university itself.
  • I recognize that PEGS’ GWIE tutors do not proofread or edit papers and that I am responsible for actively participating in the tutoring process by collaborating with my consultant.
  • I am responsible for any learning that occurs during tutorial sessions, and I am expected to come prepared with questions and self-identified goals, as well as all relevant materials.
  • I am to proactively utilize other resources such as the instructor’s office hours and other campus resources (e.g., departmental tutoring, peer-to-peer support, & counseling, etc.), including those resources recommended by PEGS’ GWIE (e.g., educational websites, writing handbooks, & handouts/worksheets, etc.); moreover, I am expected to perform any tasks and complete all assignments agreed upon by both parties (i.e., my GWC and I) prior to the next scheduled tutoring session.
  • I am expected to arrive on time, if not early, and with an open mind as well as a willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • It is my responsibility to notify PEGS’ GWIE at least 24 hours in advance via e-mail or telephone to cancel or reschedule appointments (not doing so is considered a “No-Show”); furthermore, I am expected to contact PEGS’ GWIE as soon as possible if I am running late, and I understand that my session is subject to cancellation if I am 10 or more minutes late.
  • I consent to the following No-Show Policy: If I miss or cancel a tutoring session without providing PEGS’ GWIE with proper advanced notification (i.e., 24 hours’ notice), it is a “No-Show.” Two (2) No-Shows in a row and all programs and services may be subject to suspension; after the 2nd suspension, all programs and services may be terminated indefinitely.
  • I understand that PEGS’ GWIE has the right to indefinitely suspend me from all programs and services at its discretion.
